Composite Chart Aspects

Interpretations of aspects in composite charts.

The influences of the aspects between planets in the composite chart can be considered the heart and soul of the relationship. Although any composite chart is complex, with multiple influences to consider, it’s helpful to study each planetary aspect in order to understand the energies at play in a relationship.

Composite Chart: Sun – Moon Aspects
When the composite Sun is conjunct composite Moon:
There is a true sense of purpose and unity in your relationship. Together you feel stronger than you do individually. At the same time, your relationship is emotionally intense, and it can be hard to create or understand boundaries between you. A possible challenge of this partnership is that you may be so fused together that there is an inability to be objective about your life together. Reactions are spontaneous and not very conscious. Together, you come across as a dynamic and even authoritative, credible couple. You defend one another quickly, and there is a strong protective instinct between the two of you. Sensitivity to the mood swings of one another can be both a strength and a weakness. You may have come together as a unit quickly, and many of the decisions you make are similarly impulsive or rapid. If the relationship is challenging and either of you wants to break free from it, however, it can be difficult to do so. You share many of the same drives and goals.
When the composite Sun is opposition composite Moon:
Differences in personal backgrounds and habits may not be an issue at the beginning of this relationship, but eventually could be challenging if you treat one another as competitors rather than as team members. This is one of the more binding of aspects to find in a composite chart. There is a sense that you need one another, for better or for worse! It’s a partnership that involves much give and take and plenty to learn from each other, as long as you avoid getting into the pitfall of defensiveness.
When the composite Sun is square composite Moon:
This aspect is a binding one in many ways. You are drawn to be together on a very basic level. At the outset, you are bound to have fun with your differences, perhaps teasing one another about them. However, the closer you get, there can be a tendency for these differences to come up in arguments as well. The differences that once attracted you can become a source of irritation. Each of you should try to avoid getting yourselves in a defensive/offensive frame of mind – a state where you feel the need to defend your lifestyle and opinions by putting down your partner’s.
When the composite Sun is sextile or trine composite Moon:
This is one of the better aspects to have in a composite chart. There is a pleasing balance, or perceived balance, present when it comes to the “give and take” between you, and you are unlikely to feel put upon or dominated by one another. Satisfying feelings of camaraderie exist between you, and this is a very supportive influence. Together, you feel secure and supported.
When the composite Sun is quincunx composite Moon:
Sample from our Romantic Compatibility report: There is an ongoing sense of friction between you. One or the other will continually be putting on the brakes or preventing the two of you from proceeding full speed ahead in your joint ventures. An unexpected, unplanned for, unintentional burden (financial, health, or otherwise) which one of you brings into the relationship may consume a tremendous amount of your energies. A feeling of being “stuck” or even one of failure may arise. Certainly overcoming or enduring these difficulties is a part of the challenge and reason for your coming together.

Composite Chart: Sun – Mercury Aspects
When the composite Sun is conjunct composite Mercury:
You have come together to share ideas. Communication is rarely wanting between the two of you, unless this conjunction is seriously challenged by other planets in the composite chart. This aspect alone doesn’t mean that communication between you is healthy or strong, but whether or not it is can make or break your relationship! You are so aware of one another’s thoughts and ideas that you often are able to finish one another’s sentences. Mind you, this might not always be pleasant, as competing for the mike is also a possibility. One of the most notable qualities of your relationship is the ease with which you talk with one another–you are rarely short on something to say. You are often able to talk about your relationship in a rational and reasonable manner, which can be a real plus for any type of coupling.

Sample from our Couples Report: In some ways, your relationship may not be so much an emotional relationship as it is an intellectual one. Yours is perhaps a relationship where you can exchange thoughts and ideas, study, research, spend hours in conversation and enjoy mental stimulation rather than physical. For you, sex takes place mentally as well as physically. You are able to be more detached and logical in your relationship than many couples.

Your conversations will be excellent and since you have so much in common, you probably think the same ways about life in general. You will have no trouble understanding what the other person is talking about. There are very meaningful discussions indicated here and should you be involved in creative or business ventures together, then this aspect is an added boost for the conception of new ideas.

You can feel very close to each other with this aspect, without feeling vulnerable, and doing your “own thing” will be a prerequisite for the two of you. Trips and travel, whether local or long distance, are also part of this aspect. Sitting still may be difficult for you both.

Composite Chart: Sun – Venus Aspects
When the composite Sun is conjunct composite Venus:
You have come together for pleasure, affection, shared interests, and enjoyment. Together, you are a charming and likeable couple. Maintaining peace and harmony between you is a priority, and sometimes you might find yourself avoiding messier (yet important) relationship problems in order to maintain your relationship at a comfortable level. There may also be an overemphasis on your wants, desires, and pleasures; and neediness, moodiness, and false charm between you could become an issue. It’s easy to have fun with one another, although hard aspects to this Sun-Venus conjunction from outer planets in the composite chart might challenge the expression of affection between the two of you, as well as the comfort with which you interact.

Composite Chart: Sun – Mars Aspects
When the composite Sun is conjunct composite Mars:
Sample from the Romantic Compatibility report: Without a doubt, the two of you rouse strong energies within one another, and you will have to learn how to manage conflict, passion, and anger in a creative way. When you are together, you both tend to become competitive, overly eager, rambunctious, zealous. You are not destined to have a peaceful, placid coexistence! However, you can initiate new projects and get lots of work done together, if your drives are harnessed and channeled into creative enterprises. Winning at work and competition, developing a warrior spirit, encouraging one another to be bolder and more courageous – these are the positives you will discover and create together if you can diffuse the more aggressive, abrasive energies you bring out in each other.

Action, doing, accomplishing are much of what this relationship is about. Because you generate so much heat – on all levels – when you are together, your sexual energies will also be stimulated and will certainly be an undertone in your communication with one another. You inspire each other to express yourselves to the hilt, and the energy that is generated between you as a couple can be exciting, sometimes to the point of exhaustion, but always interesting! You might find that you feel restless with one another during quiet times. Remember that this excess energy can be channeled constructively. Go for a walk, or make love! “Make love not war” might be your motto. This is a very dynamic composite aspect, and you may find that you get a lot more done when you are around each other than most couples who may easily slip into a lazy or “too comfortable” pattern.
When the composite Sun is opposition composite Mars:
Sample from the Romantic Compatibility report: You bring out the warrior in one another, and without intending to, you both polarize against one another. While not exactly enemies, you often pit yourselves against each other as opponents, sparring partners, challengers to each other’s strength. The most you can hope for is to spur one another on to creative accomplishment, but frequently you end up battling and vying for position and dominance. Avoid being too abrasive and aggressive toward one another. You’d do well to try to reinforce one another’s strength, courage, and fighting spirit without directly engaging in ego conflicts. Many things you attempt to undertake cooperatively are apt to be tense and volatile at times. A pressure to compete and perform is part of the essence of this relationship.
When the composite Sun is square composite Mars:
Sometimes, out of the blue, little things pop up between the two of you that inspire some sort of disagreement. There can be some basic clash of egos in your relationship, and this is likely to be the root of the minor irritations or combativeness. There can be a hard time agreeing on where you are headed with each other, the direction your relationship is taking, and even the purpose of your being together. This basic disagreement can cause all sorts of little misunderstandings and tensions. And, little “issues” can often escalate. The key here will be to get to the root of the problem – and that is what your relationship means to you *individually*. Chances are, each of you would give a very different answer to the questions, “What does this relationship mean to you?” and “Where are you headed as a couple?” Put your heads and your hearts together and come up with a compromise. If you are working at cross-purposes, you will face far too many rocky roads together.
When the composite Sun is trine composite Mars:
Sample from the Romantic Compatibility report: Together, you will be dynamic, energetic, bold, and able to accomplish a great deal. You may find that spending a lot of time together gives you more energy and more desire to do and to achieve. You excel together in athletics, vigorous outdoor activities, and the like.

Part of the essence of your relationship has to do with fostering confidence and a positive, active approach to life. You enable each other to be assertive, and to feel proud of yourselves and your achievements.
When the composite Sun is sextile composite Mars:
Sample from the Romantic Compatibility report: Together you will be inspired to take action and do things that you may not have had the courage or confidence to do as single individuals. You help one another come out into the world, to participate more fully and more boldly. Whatever you do together as a team is infused with a sense of energy and vital purpose, and you can get a lot done. Physical activities, sports or outdoor adventures, for instance, are a key part of the health of your relationship.
When the composite Sun is quincunx composite Mars:
Sample from the Romantic Compatibility report: As you spend time together, you’ll find that your energy levels are quite different, that you “peak” at different times during the day, and thus you are prone to irritability and impatience with one another. One or both of you may feel pushed, pressured, and/or frustrated by this lack of compatibility on a physical-energy level. For this reason, it can be exhausting for you both to spend all of your time together. Be aware of this fundamental difference between you, and try not to force or impose your will and desire on one another – for if you do, totally unnecessary and draining disagreements arise between you on a regular basis. Accidents could even occur if you are not aware of and respectful of one another’s need for activity and/or rest. The best way to handle this subtle problem is to allow each other individual routines and try not to let energy issues come between you. Accept that your energy cycles are not always in agreement, and don’t push each other to be active when the other simply wants to take a break.

Composite Chart: Sun – Jupiter Aspects
When composite Sun conjuncts composite Jupiter:
Your relationship is permeated with good humor, warmth, mutual respect, and lenience. This is not to say that you won’t have ups and downs together, of course, but this aspect in your composite chart reveals that together you can weather pretty much any storm that comes your way (unless this conjunction is severely challenged – for example, if it’s squared by Saturn or Pluto). Very comforting indeed! Yours is a relationship that suggests growth and fulfillment.

Sample from our Romantic Compatibility report: Enormous benefits, expansion, success, and growth come to both of you through the vehicle of your relationship. You’ll be blessed with unusual good fortune and fulfillment, both materially and in less tangible ways. Most of all, you will feel that you have plenty when you are together. Instead of seeing limitations, you’ll be able to see possibilities for an expanded life, opportunities that you may have missed before. Religion, philosophy, or higher education may become a focus in your relationship, even if neither of you is especially inclined that way.

You increase one another’s optimism and broaden one another’s viewpoints, opening up much more of the world to one another. Long distance travel or making connections to other parts of the world can be a part of this.

Essentially, your relationship is about increasing growth, freedom, and expansion in your lives. Much success and fulfillment are generated when you are together. Forgiveness and tolerance are essential “ingredients” in your happiness.
When composite Sun is in opposition to composite Jupiter:
Giving one another the benefit of the doubt is something that seems to come naturally to you. However, you might also encourage lazy, self-indulgent, or excessive traits in one another through this very lenient attitude. Striking a balance will be important.
When composite Sun is square or quincunx to composite Jupiter:
You want the best for one another, but sometimes this is because you’re too lazy to discipline yourselves or simply too lenient with one another. Challenging one another to be a better person should be the goal, rather than making each other happy only for the moment. Somehow, when you are together, you tend to be overly optimistic or possibly even neglectful of the more mundane details of your existence together–paying bills, saving for a rainy day, exercising, smart eating, housekeeping, and so forth. You might eventually lack faith in the promises you make to one another, or in your shared dreams, as you seem to lack follow-through. If you can discipline yourselves, this can be a warm, happy, and tolerant relationship.
When composite Sun sextiles or trines composite Jupiter:
You generate warm, positive, humorous, and satisfying feelings through your relationship dynamic. Working together, you can achieve much, as long as you grab opportunities when they arise. You are exceptionally tolerant of one another, and you “allow” each other personal space. As a couple, you are able to bounce back from low or difficult periods quickly and possibly with even more confidence in one another.

Composite Chart: Sun – Saturn Aspects
When the composite Sun is conjunct composite Saturn:
There is a strong sense that this is not a relationship to be taken lightly. In contrast to the composite Sun-Neptune aspect, this relationship fairly demands that roles are defined. There can be a business-like quality to this relationship, even if it is a romantic one, as the practical side of relating is emphasized and the need to be responsible to one another (and to others) is somehow clear. The main problem with this aspect occurs when partners become critical or overly demanding of one another, failing to allow much room for human error, and losing sight of the romantic feelings that they once felt.
When the composite Sun is square or in opposition to composite Saturn:
While it may not be apparent at the beginning of your relationship, eventually there can be a feeling of obligation between the two of you that can seriously undermine fun and romance. Sometimes this takes the form of burdens that you, as a couple, experience, and other times it is part of your relationship dynamic. It might seem that every time you’re feeling good about your relationship, something sets you back. It will be important to avoid coming down on your partner, either by criticizing or reminding him/her of their “duties” too often, as the relationship can eventually feel too heavy and burdensome to endure. Roles need to be defined, but some leniency should be afforded to one another.
When the composite Sun is trine composite Saturn:
There is a strong feeling that your relationship is going somewhere, and you have a nice feeling of security through it. Dependability and commitment are emphasized in your union. Problems are generally taken in stride. Your responsibilities to one another and to the people around you as well as the structures you’ve built together are met. Together, you are a reasonable, realistic, and responsible unit. Unless there are other strong aspects suggesting otherwise, you’re not big risk takers.
When the composite Sun is quincunx composite Saturn:
Sample from the Romantic Compatibility report: Circumstances beyond your control and not of your choosing may intrude themselves upon you two, and prevent you from having as full a relationship as you would wish. You may have to overcome great odds in order to be together, or simply find that other duties, obligations, and commitments don’t enable you to be together as much as you would like. Beware of reinforcing thoughts of gloom and doom, struggle, or “we can’t”, and try to focus instead on what you do enjoy about one another and your relationship. Inevitably, there will be lacks, gaps, regrets, or missing elements in your relationship, but if you concentrate on what IS working, you’ll have a better chance of overcoming those difficulties.

Composite Chart: Sun – Uranus Aspects
When the composite Sun is conjunct composite Uranus:
This relationship is bound to be exciting, stimulating, and sometimes quite upsetting! You are an unconventional couple in some manner, and if you’re bound by traditional rules, you’re likely to feel restless. While the “rules” of your relationship need to be different or nontraditional, it will be important to make your own rules together, rather than separately, or the unsettled feeling between you is likely to grow, possibly to the point of break up. You have come together to break a few rules, to free yourselves from limiting situations or ideas, and to learn from each other that life isn’t any fun if you stick to the same old routines. One or both of you might eventually feel insecure in this setup, however, if you’re always emphasizing living for the moment and not accepting any real responsibility for one another. Sometimes, this aspect is experienced as outside forces that seem to separate you at critical moments. Many times it’s the nature of your relationship that has unstable elements. You may treat each other in a decidedly abrupt or sharp manner at times, which seems to lack sensitivity. Resistance to commitment is likely. How the two of you deal with these elements will depend on your individual needs–while there is always an element of surprise and excitement in your relationship, one or both of you might one day tire of the lack of reliability.
When the composite Sun is opposition composite Uranus:
This relationship might have developed at lightning speed, or it may have seemed to come out of the blue. This excitement and surprise is something that stays with you, and while this keeps your relationship electric and stimulating, the changes that seem to be a theme in your relationship can also be unsettling or confusing at times. Resistance to commitment is likely. Abruptness in the way you handle one another might be an issue. The long-term viability of this relationship is questionable, although it might last if it’s long-distance, on-again-off-again, or nontraditional in setup.
When the composite Sun is sextile or trine composite Uranus:
There is a distinct quality of openness to your relationship. You stimulate one another to experiment, break a few rules, let go of inhibitions, and try new things. As a couple, you seem to have learned that freedom comes through some level of responsibility, not from rebelling against responsibility. You tend to allow one another more freedom than many couples, and value one another’s unique contribution to the relationship. Mutual respect is a strength. It’s natural for you to be spontaneous with your activities, and changes in plans are generally taken in stride. Others might see you as oddly detached, as you are not as possessive of one another as is typical of many relationships.
When the composite Sun is quincunx composite Uranus:
Sample from the Romantic Compatibility report: Throughout your relationship, there will be unusual events, sudden turnabouts, unexpected intrusions, and surprises, which may prevent you from following through on some of your joint plans or settling into a steady, reliable pattern with one another. There may be a disjointed, unnerving sense of uncertainty, but if you are both fairly adaptable and open, you may be able to ride through the ups and downs. A sense of humor will be a requirement!

If one of you becomes restless, it is important to be absolutely truthful and up-front about the changes you want to make, rather than becoming unreliable and acting out erratically. You may find to your surprise that the other person is restless too, and willing to try something radically different.

You won’t be able to avoid change in this relationship; how you deal with it will determine the success of your togetherness.

Composite Chart: Sun – Neptune Aspects
When the composite Sun is conjunct composite Neptune:
There is a magical or spiritual quality to your relationship that can be very appealing at first, but ultimately challenging if you are not careful. You may have come together due to a shared vision or interest in the arts. As a couple, you may seem to be in your own little world, and this might not be far from the truth. Compassion may have brought you together, and is likely to continue as a large theme in your relationship. You might naturally soothe one another, or share many of the same dreams and hopes. There can be a sense of making sacrifices for one another, or in order to be together. However, you might also encourage one another, usually not with intention, to escape reality, to lose focus on practical goals, or to follow unrealistic paths. There can be an odd feeling between the two of you due to a lack of definition of your relationship, and of the boundaries between you. Gradually, these things might erode your relationship, possibly to the point that you feel you have been misguided, deceived, taken advantage of, or misled. Make special effort to communicate, and don’t assume that your partner knows what you mean or feel, as it is unlikely the case!
When the composite Sun is square or in opposition to composite Neptune:
A tendency to mislead one another is unlikely to be intentional, but is very likely to become an issue in your relationship nevertheless. There is a strong tendency to want to fill one another’s fantasies, and in an effort to do so, one or both of you could be faking it on some level. This tendency is something to watch for, as it can eventually break down the relationship and even lead to feelings of resentment, bitterness, and disappointment. A lack of commitment or definition of your partnership is also probable with this composite aspect. Make special effort to communicate, and don’t assume that your partner knows what you mean or feel, as it is unlikely the case!
When the composite Sun is sextile or trine composite Neptune:
There is a magical quality to this relationship, as you seem to support one another’s dreams, fantasies, wishes, and hopes. You might share dreams and visions in the first place, and this could be one of the things that drew you together. There is a strong element of intuition in your association that feels wonderful, as you naturally seem to accept one another on a basic level. This relationship dynamic might be so natural and subtle that you don’t always appreciate it, but if you do stop to think about it, you might honour the fact that this is a rare and special quality.
When the composite Sun is quincunx composite Neptune:
Sample from the Romantic Compatibility report: Truthfulness, honesty, and personal integrity will become important issues between you. This isn’t to say there will necessarily be any willful deception, but subtle nuances and innuendoes which can be misinterpreted, omitting pertinent information, or leading the other to believe something that isn’t strictly true, can create mistrust and uncertainty in your relationship.

On the other hand, the two of you may be square with one another, but find yourselves involved with disreputable schemers. In any practical or financial matters, beware of being taken advantage of. When you join forces you have a tendency to believe what you want to believe, and to thus be misled.

Composite Chart: Sun – Pluto Aspects
When the composite Sun is conjunct composite Pluto:
This union has the potential to be life changing for both of you. There could be a feeling that fate brought you together. Certainly you quite quickly become entangled, and rather intensely to boot. You might demand loyalty from one another, or expect the relationship to continue at the same level of intimacy and intensity with which it began. In a long-term relationship, this is nearly impossible, as fluctuations are normal. However, a partner’s indifference, even if it is a fleeting phase or mood, can be felt as threatening. As such, the demands that you bring to the table, whether they’re overt or subtle, can eventually drain your energy, and possibly even sap your relationship of creativity.
When the composite Sun is square or in opposition to composite Pluto:
The main struggle with this intense dynamic in the composite chart revolves around the desire to control the relationship itself, or one another. The feelings you arouse in one another are intense, and your relationship likely began with very strong feelings and an unusually high level of intimacy. Being together may have aroused strong feelings in others. Later, as either partner shows signs that the relationship may not be all-consuming or top priority, fear is likely to emerge. You pull out intense and possibly primal feelings in one another, and the fear of either of you betraying this intensity can drive all sorts of ugly emotions and behaviors. You’ll want to avoid the more negative qualities of this aspect, which are jealous, controlling, dominating, and resentful energies. Otherwise, fear of loss of one another may very well become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
When the composite Sun is sextile or trine composite Pluto:
Your relationship is intense and intimate, and together you feel stronger than you do separately. It’s likely that you become emotionally intimate relatively quickly. You seem to take problems in stride, fully accepting that there is always some bad with every good. Problem solving between you, as a result, is one of your strengths. You are quick to defend one another, and loyalty between you is assumed. You gently challenge one another with reasonable demands, and this allows you to feel that your relationship is growing and vital.
When the composite Sun is quincunx composite Pluto:
Sample from the Romantic Compatibility report: There will come periods in your relationship, especially if it is a long one, when totally unexpected, uncontrollable events, or a strange twist of fate, will intrude and force you to face some deep pain or difficulties. You may lose something precious to you in an unexpected way. Inevitably, some darkness or deep loss will shape your relationship. This may bring you very close together, or drive you apart.

Composite Chart: Moon – Mercury Aspects
When the composite Moon is conjunct, sextile, or trine composite Mercury:
You easily share personal information with each other, and probably delight in so doing. This is a chatty aspect that indicates much exchange, stimulation, and a mutual desire for variety and changes in the environment. Together, you like to keep busy, and if you share a home, the atmosphere is active and involved. You tend to be sensitive to each other’s feelings and moods, and turn to each other for easy conversation. You may delight in sharing memories with one another. The female in this relationship may be quite talkative, finding a wonderful outlet in her partner. As a couple, you are involved with each other and find it quite easy to solve problems in a rational and reasonable manner.
When the composite Moon is square or opposition composite Mercury:
One of the challenges of your relationship is the tendency to take things personally. It can be difficult to discuss things in a rational or objective manner, as you are sensitive to the words your partner uses, and you take things personally. There can be a rather restless quality to your relationship that disturbs the peace more times than may be welcome. If you share a home, it may be hard to run a calm household for whatever reason. You may be very chatty with one another, but intimate communication can be wanting simply because each of you may be ultra-sensitive to your partner’s responses. There can be a nervous, dissatisfied, or unsettled element of your relationship that makes it hard to spend quiet, calm moments with one another. At the root of this problem is a tendency to either rationalize emotions that cannot be rationalized, or emotionalize things that should be approached in a more detached manner. Often, it is a tendency to do both at different times! Communication between you may seem superficial, as you tend to skirt the deeper issues. Bickering about who left the toilet seat up or who forgot to put the cap on the toothpaste will get you nowhere! Peace and comfort can only come when you trust each other to find the root of any problems between you, and when you can let down the defenses long enough to really listen to what your partner needs and wants.

Composite Chart: Moon – Venus Aspects
When the composite Moon is conjunct composite Venus:
This is a tender and gentle position wherein the couple feels at ease and comfortable with one another, unless this conjunction of the Moon and Venus is severely challenged by other planets. Consideration for one another’s needs and desires is present. The desire to make one another happy is strong; but the downside here is that you may skim over the surface of important issues in an effort to keep harmony between you. This is a peacefully sensual aspect. When times are tough, this aspect helps by reminding you that you truly do enjoy one another. The desire to create a family together, or a nice home, is strong with this composite chart aspect.
When the composite Moon is sextile composite Venus:
Mutual affection as well as a nice feeling of ease and comfort with one another make this aspect a good one for any type of a relationship. You naturally consider one another’s needs and desires, and making each other happy is a priority. This aspect helps weather bad times, as it reminds you that there is a lot of care between the two of you.
When the composite Moon is square composite Venus:
Differences with regards to attitudes towards money and values, as well as backgrounds, are likely to surface and cause minor problems in your relationship. Other family members or outsiders might cause problems for you. However, the desire to take care of one another is strong. This aspect is often found in co-dependent bonds, although it’s not necessarily a bad thing unless it’s seriously challenged by other difficult planets.
When the composite Moon is trine composite Venus:
You truly care about one another and enjoy being together, and this aspect goes a long way towards keeping things pleasant even in difficult times. You feel a strong sense of ease and comfort with one another, and the only down side to this is that you may not challenge each other to grow, or you might sweep important matters under the carpet in order to keep the harmony you crave.
When the composite Moon is in opposition to composite Venus:
Differences in basic family matters, or about money and possessions, can be the source of minor irritations between the two of you. However, the desire to care for one another, to “nest” with each other, and to enjoy each other’s company is very strong.

Composite Chart: Moon – Mars Aspects
When the composite Moon is conjunct composite Mars:
Emotions and passions are aligned with the composite Moon conjunct composite Mars. This aspect generates a lot of emotional energy, which can be expressed creatively as passion or destructively as too much aggression–and often both. You easily arouse one another–sexually and emotionally. While you stimulate one another, you will need to blow off some steam with one another, and this can suggest that you easily irritate, anger, and offend each other. On one hand, all of this directness means you won’t easily sweep difficult matters under the carpet. On the other, you might spend too much time arguing over petty matters, and this can grow tiresome! Try to avoid competing with one another, unless it’s done in a friendly way that gently challenges each of you.
When the composite Moon is sextile or trine composite Mars:
This is an excellent aspect to have in a composite chart, as it suggests passionate involvement with one another and a true zest for life is stimulated between you. It’s excellent for sexual relations. Getting physical with one another, or together as a couple, is an important part of your relationship. Together, you are adventurous and spontaneous, and a stimulating, active couple. You are not afraid to address emotional concerns directly and immediately.
When the composite Moon is square or in opposition to composite Mars:
A lot of damage can be done in the heat of the moment, with impulsive words and actions. There are plenty of heated moments in your relationship! You affect each other immediately–indifference is rarely present between you. While you are quick to anger or irritate one another, you might be just as quick to let it go. You react quickly and directly to one another, and you tend to make impulsive emotional decisions when together. Towards others, you may be protective and defensive of your relationship. On one hand, all of this directness means you won’t easily sweep difficult matters under the carpet. On the other, you might spend too much time arguing over petty matters, and this can grow tiresome! Try to avoid competing with one another, unless it’s done in a friendly way that gently challenges each of you.

Composite Chart: Moon – Jupiter Aspects
When the composite Moon is conjunct composite Jupiter:
Your tolerance for one another is notable with the Moon conjunct Jupiter in the composite chart, unless this conjunction is severely challenged. Making each other happy is a priority, but too much leniency with one another is also a possibility–you may encourage lazy or self-indulgent qualities. Learning moderation and contentment will be important for you as a couple.

Sample from the Romantic Compatibility report: You are destined to bring many wonderful blessings into one another’s lives, and to prosper together. Material well-being and comfort is unlikely to be a problem for you as a couple; when you are together you’ll always have plenty and be well taken care of. You bounce back from misfortune rapidly, and are able to support and uplift one another during bad times. In general, being together increases your optimism and positive feelings about life. As a couple you will be known for your good humor, generosity, hospitality, and warmth. Others will feel more expansive in your company. If you share a home, it will be spacious, welcoming, and very comfortable – the source of a great deal of satisfaction for you both. You will do quite a bit of traveling together, but always return to the “little piece of heaven” you create together.

The basis of your bond together is an overall tolerance for each other, mutual respect, and a distinct feeling of growth. You are very encouraging and supportive of one another, and your bond will be a delightful one – emotionally rich and full. This is a major point of compatibility. Of course, you are bound to face problems together, simply because that is the nature of any close relationship, but you can always rely on each other to generate warmth and acceptance on a very basic, emotional level. You are bound to share much laughter together, and, as a couple, you are resilient.
When the composite Moon is square or in opposition to composite Jupiter:
A major focus in this relationship is the desire to enjoy yourselves. There is generally good humor underlying many of your interactions, and this helps you to bounce back easily from any problems you encounter. More attention should be directed to mundane matters and details, as you tend to encourage one another to overindulge. Emotional moments between you tend to be bigger than life, and you might find that your relationship dynamic somehow encourages the over-emphasis of what others might consider normal fluctuations of mood. It will be important to avoid overstating or exaggerating your feelings. Learning moderation and contentment will be important for you as a couple.

Sample from the Romantic Compatibility report: “Let’s have a good time!” will be one of the ongoing themes in your relationship. You encourage each other to play, to laugh and see the lighter side of life, to expand your horizons, and simply to enjoy life.

As a couple you are inclined to overdo the “good life” however, and can put too much into luxuries, vacations, delicious but transitory pleasures. You’ll want to live it up together, to just go out and have fun – and FUN is definitely one of the purposes of your relationship… but eventually you’ll have to pay for this if you two don’t keep it within reasonable bounds.

Nevertheless, unexpected good fortune and “miracles” will happen to the two of you as a couple. There is an undeniable “lucky” streak in this relationship.
When the composite Moon trines or sextiles composite Jupiter:
You truly love spending time with one another, and the good feelings you generate in one another certainly help you to bounce back from difficult experiences you might face as a couple. At the end of the day, you always seem to give one another the benefit of the doubt. You are also likely to be a popular couple.
When the composite Moon is in quincunx to composite Jupiter:
Sample from the Romantic Compatibility report: Inevitably the two of you will have to deal with the results of either poor management of funds, excessive extravagances, mishandled investments, or past debts that one or both of your bring with you from previous times.

There is a curious discontentment that is generated between you – a desire for more, for better, for improvements, for something that you don’t have now. As a result you are apt to, for instance, buy a more expensive home or automobile than you can comfortably afford, and then struggle with the payments. So, while you may look very comfortable and prosperous, it would be at a cost to your emotional peace and well-being.

“Unexpected and/or inconvenient increases” is a theme. Your family may become bigger than anticipated, creating inconveniences – but also blessings!

Composite Chart: Moon – Saturn Aspects
When the composite Moon is conjunct composite Saturn:
While this may not be apparent at the beginning of your relationship, emotional heaviness is something you’re bound to deal with. Some awkwardness or shyness with one another, however, is likely right from the start. It can be difficult feeling at ease expressing your emotions and innermost feelings/desires with one another for fear that the other person will somehow disapprove or fail to fulfill, acknowledge, or sympathize with them. Self-consciousness or awkwardness can be a real problem. You might avoid “messy” emotional expression, or keep things from one another as a result. Or, one person might attempt to keep emotional conversations going, but feel unsupported by the partner. Overall, there is a sense that you can’t truly be yourselves or open up on an intimate, emotional level with one another. On the other hand, there can be a real sense of duty and responsibility to one another, long-term commitment and emotional maturity in this relationship. A strong feeling of needing one another is likely. There might be short separations and reunions. There can also be a sense that you’re both strong or mature enough to deal with problems or hardships. There is a feeling that there is no rush while you are together, as you will have enough time to explore whatever you want to explore with each other at a later date, and this can be a very good feeling.
When the composite Moon is square or in opposition to composite Saturn:
Emotional inhibitions are bound to pose a problem in this relationship. While there can be a lot of frustrations, holding back, and feelings of being unloved or unsupported in this relationship, there can be a simultaneous feeling of neediness. There can be guilt trips or strong feelings of duty or responsibility for one another. You might be a feeling of loneliness while together, as there seems to be a barrier between you or a lack of basic understanding on a heart level. You might become fed up and separate, only to reunite again either due to feelings of guilt or dependency on one another. Coolness is often present when supportive sympathy or empathy would be more appropriate and helpful.
When the composite Moon trines or sextiles composite Saturn:
You are an emotionally mature and responsible couple, able to weather most any storm together and to hold it together through the toughest times. The feelings you have for one another are generally consistent and reliable, and while you are unlikely to plumb one another’s emotional depths, this relationship can feel satisfyingly secure to you. There is a feeling that there is no rush while you are together, as you will have enough time to explore whatever you want to explore with each other at a later date, and this can be a very good feeling.

Composite Chart: Moon – Uranus Aspects
Composite Moon is conjunct composite Uranus:
If a relationship upon which you can rely and depend is what suits you best, then this relationship is not what you’re looking for. It’s exciting, spontaneous, and completely unpredictable.
Composite Moon is square or in opposition to composite Uranus:

Composite Chart: Moon – Pluto Aspects
When the composite Moon is sextile or trine composite Pluto:
Your relationship will open up windows into your own emotional natures that may have been previously either closed or only slightly open. Through each other, you will experience some powerful emotions, as your attachment to each other is intense. You not only feel emotionally attached, but you feel the need to be very involved with one another. This is not a superficial connection, and both of you know this pretty much right from the start. Although the intimate and emotional nature of your relationship is intensely felt by both, the female of the relationship may be more in tune to this vibration. There may be, at times, some fear that a partner is keeping something from the other person–something that threatens the relationship. Be careful not to smother each other or express too much possessiveness if it is based on fear. The need for expressions of attachment and commitment from each other may border on insatiable at times, and the fear of losing each other may be an ever-present “haunt”. However, open expressions of attachment are generally forthcoming. You sometimes play each other’s psychoanalyst, which can be exciting and illuminating as long as it is under control and neither of you ends up reading too much into what your partner does, says, or asks. Your mutual need to understand each other on an intimate level can be a real bonus. Each of you knows that your partner’s feelings run deep, and this is a treasure.
When the composite Moon is conjunct, square, or opposition composite Pluto:
You are intensely involved with each other, and the attachment runs deep. However, possessiveness based on fear of losing one another can be a big issue in this partnership, perhaps more dramatically expressed on the part of the female. You will need to take extra care not to attempt to control each other by needing to know everything about each other at all times. Fears that one of you is keeping a secret that threatens the partnership may be a self-fulfilling prophecy if it is left to undermine the trust in your relationship. It can be easy for one or both of you to slip into this mode of fear, as your attachment to each other is intense. There is nothing wrong with needing each other, but if that need leads to distorted expressions of attachment, such as manipulation or obsession, you will need to get a handle on it at an early stage before you drive a wedge between you. The intensely emotional nature of your attachment can be a beautiful thing, as you are capable of great intimacy, but this exclusiveness may create a fear of change, of rejection, or of loss which can seriously undermine your partnership over time, to the point of no return. When you argue, it can be very dramatic! Always remind yourselves that attempts to control each other, and the “need” to know where your partner stands on an emotional level at all times, are expressions of fear, not love. One or both of you may end up cracking under such pressures, and your parting could not only be inevitable, but it could get downright ugly. Your relationship was likely to have started with a bang. Perhaps one or both of you entered the partnership after experiencing some trauma, or your intense feelings for one another changed your lives. Perhaps your relationship uprooted you from your past in some way. Whatever the case may be, there is an attachment between you that feels unbalanced from the start, and both of you should work on keeping your feelings for each other aboveboard.

Composite Chart: Mercury-Mars Aspects
When composite Mercury is conjunct, semi-square, square, sesquiquadrate, quincunx, or opposition (in hard aspect to) composite Mars:
You are inclined to tell each other exactly what you’re thinking without considering the consequences. This can be healthy to a degree, but often not! This is because the words we choose to explain ourselves are not always reflective of how we are actually feeling.

You’re looking to one another for mental stimulation and exciting exchange or verbal rapport. You might frequently challenge each other’s ideas. Whether this inspires you to think more sharply or degrades into mental sparring and one-upmanship is entirely up to you. Conversations are certainly lively between you, but can often lead to arguments if you are not careful. Avoid trying to force an opinion onto each other, or attempting to one-up each other on a mental level. Scoring intellectual points might be fun in a debate, but it can hurt feelings and cause unnecessary conflict if either of you doesn’t take it as a game. Different points of view can turn into full-fledged arguments all too easily with this combination. Words may be sharp and impatient.
When composite Mercury is sextile or trine composite Mars:
You feed on each other for mental stimulation, and conversations between you are animated. You are able to “tell it like it is”, and generally this makes for honest communications and a feeling of trust between you. You gently challenge one another to think more effectively and to come up with exciting new ideas.

Composite Chart: Venus – Mars Aspects
When composite Venus is conjunct composite Mars:
Passionate attraction to one another is strong and unlikely to fade over time, although it can turn into passionate hatred if things don’t work out between you! You arouse strong feelings in one another. Friendly competition at the very least is likely between you, and frequent heated moments between you, while they can be extreme in either direction, keep you stimulated and interested in one another. Passionate interest and involvement, in fact, is vital to your happiness as a couple, and problems in this area should never be ignored. Keeping this flame alive is important, but so is the excitement you inspire in one another for other interests and projects.

Sample from the Romantic Compatibility report: The passionate, deliciously amorous feelings you arouse in one another initially are destined always to be an important “glue” in your relationship. This powerful drive you feel toward one another will be hard to ignore, and it is unlikely the two of you will ever be “just friends”. No matter what you tell yourselves, the sexual energies between you are highly charged, and the love-desire quite intense. Your feelings for each other will always be “hot”, and are unlikely to ever cool to indifference. However, if other aspects of your lives bring you into conflict, your animosity toward one another would become as hot-blooded and fierce as your love. You simply will never be lukewarm toward one another. Nevertheless, prospects for deep fulfillment – at least on the physical level – and sexual harmony are excellent. This is part of what draws you together, one of the purposes of your relationship.
When composite Venus is square or in opposition to composite Mars:
“There’s a fine line between love and hate” and there is nothing more apparent when Venus is in hard aspect to Mars in the composite chart. You stimulate powerful feelings in one another, and they are insistent and perhaps even impatient ones. Your physical relationship may have developed before your intimate relationship, and it’s important to allow intimacy to catch up with you. There can be quite a bit of posing, cat and mouse games, and “foreplay” that is not always of the pleasant variety. It is all too easy to offend one another. Although the sexual attraction is strong, hypersensitivity to one another can often stand in the way of fulfillment.

Sample from the Romantic Compatibility report: Inevitably there will be passion and fireworks in your relationship, and just as inevitably there will be friction, argumentativeness, and competition between you – all of which adds to the magnetic attraction you have for one another. Fighting will create more desire and cause amorous feelings to flow. But if one or both of you prefers a more peaceful relationship, all of this intensity can be unnerving. Sexual disharmonies or conflicting needs and desires regarding how love is expressed will have to be worked out. Lack of passion, however, will never be a issue!

This is destined to be a vibrant and very physical relationship. If for some reason the two of you could not physically express your affections for each other, you will find being in one another’s presence irritating and frustrating.
When composite Venus is sextile or trine composite Mars:
Energy flows quite beautifully between the two of you, and you are often in synch with one another, enjoying good timing. You find one another pleasantly stimulating. While you are not overly anxious to shake up your romantic or sexual routine, you are also open to trying new things that naturally keep the spark from dying out between you. The key here is that there is no pressure to do so–things just naturally flow in that direction. This is an excellent aspect for romance. Rarely do petty arguments disturb your expression of affection, unless there are severely challenging components in the rest of your composite chart. You have that much-desired “chemistry”, and although others might see it and even be inspired by it, it’s important that you take the time to value it every once in a while, as it’s so natural that you may not always appreciate it.
When composite Venus is quincunx composite Mars:
Sample from the Romantic Compatibility report: A certain degree of sexual disharmony or frustration is part of the challenge in your relationship. What arouses or pleases one of you may be so foreign to the other that you simply miss one another’s cues, or your drives may be of very different levels of intensity. Poor timing or different rhythms and pacing may well play a role. Somehow, the two of you aren’t in sync, physically or sexually. This is not to say there won’t be plenty of desire and affection, only that learning how to give and receive it will require adjustments and patience on both of your parts. A rewarding physical relationship will only be possible if you’re both willing to learn and compromise.
