About Sagittarius Kids & Young Ones

Know the little ones by their Sun Sign: Sagittarius.

Sagittarius kids are boys and girls born around 23 November to 21 December.

Sagittarius kids are outgoing, friendly, out-front, frank, and usually well-liked. Enthusiastic and optimistic, they are physically and mentally very active, and even tend to get restless. From an early age they have a keen appreciation of philosophy and religion, and often love the process of learning. These kids have their own idea of truth, and love to talk and even argue about it, but only after getting into the heart of any subject. They also love to meet people of all walks, beliefs, and cultures.

These children, born with Sun in Sagittarius, are explorers and love to travel. Even as babies, they delight in strolls around the neighborhood, and take off on all directions from the moment they learn to crawl. As they grow up, they readily take to tricycles, bicycles and scooters. These children do not take to boundaries readily, and have a natural impulse to transcend all limitations. Prone to 'dare-devilry' and arrogance, especially when they resent restrictions of their freedom, they need to be taught the necessity for limits and rules for their safety and future success. Born adventurers and always in search of something new, they easily become bored and usually start so many things that nothing ever gets finished. Their lack of responsibility and sense of time add to their woes, unless they are properly guided. They tend to get distracted easily and skip details, especially if Mercury is also in Sagittarius.

Not just physically, Sagittarius kids love to travel in their minds, too. Colorful books on religious themes, heroes and noble deeds, far-off lands would capture their attention and ignite their own sense of mission. They often visit libraries and museums, but more than books they gain knowledge from exposure to a variety of diverse environments and experiences: the park, the marketplace, the mountains, the sea. They often ignore doing chores or homework because they do not look like something that would be fun. Giving them freedom of choice and teaching them tact - are challenging for parents, but necessary. These kids also love sports, as much to watch others playing, too. Outdoor sports with lots of movement, from football to horseback riding, can have them going consistently.

Sagittarius kids are notorious for being too blunt and outspoken. They also love the law and a natural sense of fairness. If they feel they have been wronged (including being disciplined or restricted) these children may express resentment and a desire to get even. Retaliation is a misuse of the Sagittarius spirit, and any rude or arrogant behaviour should be discouraged from an early age. They should be taught social graces and the importance of structures through arguments that are fair and acceptable.

Baby and Toddler Sagittarius
(0-5 years, approximately)

Sagittarius kids are sporty, fun-loving, enthusiastic, and optimistic. They need to travel, and meet people from all walks. From birth to schooling age, here is how Sagittarius kids grow:

Birth - 6 months:
They are alert, cheerful, squirmy, and restless. They are in perpetual motion, whenever they are not sleeping. They are usually happy and playful, and are able to keep themselves and those around them amused. They mostly need the company of others, and may cry if left alone. They tend to sleep better if they can hear familiar voices.
6-18 months:
They are restless and curious, and willing to learn new skills or learnings. They tend to develop a fascination of fire at an early age. They enjoy travelling away from home, and love to listen to stories. They usually develop a wonderful imagination from this age.
18 months - 3 years:
They are playful, brave, and reckless, and are increasingly outgoing and independent. They are also curious and inquisitive, and expect plenty of explanations and answers. They may also tend to become rebellious, and can get very untidy. They are usually creative, eager to try new things, and have a rich fantasy life.
3-5 years:
They are friendly, outgoing, flamboyant and passionate, and have a natural charm that make them popular. They are also extremely restless and curious, and have a short attention span with a need for variety. This curiosity and keenness to learn make their early years of (pre)schooling easy. They are also daydreamers, and become very good at story-telling, but have difficulty in differentiating between reality and fantasy. They are usually confident, but at the same time fearful.

School-Aged Sagittarius Girl
(6-12 years, approximately)

Sagittarius girls have strong family ties, but also have fierce desire for freedom. They are not ones to heed orders, especially those that restrict movement, and run-off on a whim without any information where to find them. On the up-side, these girls have a great outlook, see things only as they are, and respond accordingly. This helps them to face the world's harsh realities with optimism and tact. These girls have wanderlust written all over their personality, and would rarely miss a chance to get them out seeing the world.

From the moment they start talking to well into adulthood, Sagittarius girls would startle people with uncensored thoughts leaping out of her mouth. They are fiercely truthful and learn very little diplomacy, leaving parents in sticky situations - stammering and apologizing for them. No matter their age, these girls cannot condone lies, and their outspoken nature is mostly displayed when fierce truth really has a place. However, with their disarming charms, it is rarely possible to remain upset with them for a long time.

Emotionally, a Sagittarius girl does not wear her heart on her sleeve. These girls feel things very deeply, but would usually contend with those feelings alone. When things go terribly wrong, they may retreat for a personal 'time out' to rethink and reconsider, usually not for too long. They would also confide in family and friends, but only in their own time.

With very little sense of saving money (except for travel), Sagittarius girls love to spend money. Expect this girls to be ready for their shopping trip as soon as they get their allowance, or some money from family. As they enter adulthood, they tend to hang-over shopping places, or online sites, to prepare their wish list.

School-Aged Sagittarius Boy
(6-12 years, approximately)

Sagittarius boys are born adventurers and explorers, and need independence as soon as practicable. They are not ones to stay in the nest. This does not mean that they do not love their home and family, but there is a whole world to be explored and they want to see every corner of it. Holding a Sagittarius boy back, or forcing him to remain close to home, can be the worst thing that can happen to his spirit - which leads to a very sullen boy. These boys need to be provided with age-appropriate freedom. They will anyway take any and every opportunity to turn the most routine of outings into an exploration. Parents usually need to be more flexible and accomodating than they are comfortable, in order to save lots of arguments.

People, from peers to adults, are captivated by their demeanor. They are sweet, pleasant, funny, giving, and carry themselves with an air of authority. With a bright mind and a keen sense of justice, these boys can be excellent leaders - but for their unbridled honesty and razor-sharp tongue, which cuts deeply at the worst possible moments. Parents are tempted to teach these young ones to pause and think before they talk, which actually works sometimes. Rather than restricting their brilliant truthfullness, which can be relied upon, they need to be more tactful.

From a very tender age, these boys have the propensity to think very deeply about life. They come up with intense questions that lead them to various religions or philosophies, and often to people of various walks of life. This is an endearing quality of Sagittarius boys, as they explore information without pride or prejudice - in the same spirit that they would love to explore the world with.

With no sense of time, Sagittarius boys always struggle with scheduling, planning, and in meeting with the expectations and demands of others. They have little respect for commitments, promises, or routines. Forcing them to adhere to deadlines or routines would be like putting them in prison with shackles. The only way to make them follow structures, or meet deadlines or commitments, is to offer them a trip or outing as a reward.

Note that the above observations are mere solar-scopic indicators based on generic Sagittarius traits and behaviours, and do not consider the other planets of an individual's Natal Chart required for real Horoscopic readings. Other planets may enhance, suppress, and even nullify certain Sagittarius behaviours.
